About Gravel Revival
Andy Norris, gravel guru, Route Coordinator and MOAB Bike Shop employee, has been riding the roads of Hickman County for almost 10 years now. He saw a place that had potential for a gravel cycling event in West Hickman County. His idea was to bring people to witness the beauty that Hickman County offers. On one of his rides he traveled past Lehman's Lake Campground on East Beaverdam Road, essentially a campground for the local hunters. That particular day there were tents everywhere - there happened to be a boy scout camp being held that weekend. It gave him the idea to potentially host a "tent revival" of the gravel roads starting from this venue, allowing everyone to camp overnight. He stumbled upon the owner of that property, Mr. Bill McDonald. and the rest is history. We held our very first event there in 2019 with a grand total of 89 people. It was a sweet and memorable event that continued to grow.
Since 2019, MOAB Bike Shop has teamed up with a few sponsors, other local bike shops, partners and bike retailers to help celebrate a unique cycling experience. This 3 day gravel festival is for all levels of cyclists & *new this year* trail runners. Our goal is to create a festival atmosphere to welcome all riders (& now runners) to the rapidly growing trend of the gravel scene.
There would be no GRAVEL REVIVAL without the abundant chert/dirt roads of Hickman County. Take a step back in time to experience the varied terrains from smooth hard packed to narrow rocky MTB worthy surfaces.
We invite you to join us for this memorable Fall weekend of camping, fun activities, challenging and scenic gravel routes, food trucks and beer garden (N/A drinks too), bike/outdoor retailers, games/prizes, a bonfire and live music!
About Peaceful Hills Retreat & Campground
Eventually we outgrew Lehman's Lake & Campground and in 2022 we stumbled upon another amazing property in the middle of beautiful Hickman County to host Gravel Revival. Jennifer W., the owner of the property, has been amazing to work with and has embraced every aspect of this event. If you see her during the event, please be sure to thank her and come back and stay at Peaceful Hills throughout the year - she books her campsites and lodging online - and even hosts weddings, family reunions, etc. More information about future events can be found here: https://peacefulhillsretreat.com
