LIVE MUSIC at GRAVEL REVIVAL

Come for the GRAVEL, stay for the MUSIC! Since Gravel Revival started, we have had the pleasure of hosting some of Middle Tennessee's TOP musicians at Gravel Revival - and we feel so fortunate to continue that tradition year after year!

This year, we welcome Bangity Bob + Johnny Crow on Friday night (10/18) from 7-10pm (a native of Hickman County).

In the not so distant past, classic rock songs resonated from jukeboxes in every beer joint from Hickman County TN all the way to Comanche County OK. These were not just songs, but anthems that raised the generations of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Bob Campbell-Smith (Comanche Co.) and Johnny Crow (Hickman Co.) strive to keep this music alive and transmit it acoustically to audiences old and new. Both are avid cyclists and love to grind the gravel and splash the creeks when time permits. Enjoy the show and feel free to sing along!

On Saturday evening (10/19), we welcome back Jake Leg Stompers from 5-10pm.

The Jake Leg Stompers evoke the rebellious spirit and colorful pageantry of American popular music before the Second World War, from the Memphis blues to Gullah ring shouts; when jazz began, vaudeville was urgent, and folk music was still dangerous. From their home base in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the Jake Leg Stompers have been serving up chicken-fried, pre-war, hokum-billy jug music since 2005. Acclaimed for their spirited, eclectic, and wildly unpredictable performances, the Stompers evoke the ethos and repertoire of early juke joints, speakeasies and 20th-century medicine shows, featuring period dress and vintage instruments.

“There is a swagger to the Jake Leg Stompers. They play their version of old timey music and make it relevant to this day and age. It may be old timey, but it’s not elderly.” -Offbeat Magazine

“The Jake Leg Stompers resurrect the rent-party vibe of music in feast-or-famine America between the World Wars, performing with joyous abandon. JLS sing and swing traditional songs on traditional instruments—washboard, banjo, fiddle et. al.—and guzzle tradition like vintage port from a Bama-Jelly jar.” -Nashville Scene
