BICYCLE MECHANIC/SALES ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION  

The bicycle mechanic’s primary responsibilities include tuning and maintaining bikes. This position will  be based out of our Franklin, TN location. The bicycle mechanic’s job is very important as we depend on well -repaired bicycles to make the customer’s experience a great one. The bicycle mechanic reports to both our Franklin Service Manager and the Owner, but is expected to be proactive and be able to  manage his or her own time and responsibilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 
Repair, check, and fix bikes following MOAB Bike Shop standards.
Prepare bikes on time for deadlines.
Take notes of all the work done on bikes + update the customer database (Lightspeed).
Keep the inventory of the workshop updated.  
Keep the bench and the workshop clean.  
Provide feedback about bicycles and be a part of the mechanic and sales team.
Be customer service oriented and personable as you are the face of our company.  
Assist with related material (such as bicycle accessories, tools and inventory management as  needed.

Flexibility. The seasonal nature of this job means that there will be periods when you will work longer hours with the opportunity to take additional days and hours off at other times.

BICYCLE MECHANIC SKILLS  
1-3 years of shop and mechanic experience is preferred

In addition to the usual knowledge about a bicycle, we require the following skills:  
Assembling/disassembling and identify different types of bottom brackets
Wheel building  
Crank arm replacement  
Adjusting derailleurs  
Headset overhaul  
Adjusting brakes, brake levers and shifter levers  
Installation of cables  
Chain check, replacement
