The adapter is machined with multiple steps to fit common bottom bracket shell and bearing diameters listed below. The dropout saver system is an alternative to replacing badly bent or damaged derailleur dropouts. Rather than replacing the damaged dropout completely, simply drill out the damaged threads, install a dropout saver, and realign the dropout. When used with a smaller rod, it is almost impossible to prevent the cups or bearings from pressing in straight.

The Bottom Bracket Gauge Tool was designed to provide all the necessary measurements to identify the proper bottom bracket for a specific bike configuration.
