If ever there was a gravity riders' XC bike, the Tallboy is it. The new 120mm Tallboy takes a leap further into what short-travel bikes really are capable of. Sure, 10mm more travel might only seem like one small step. But, coupled with a lower link-driven VPP suspension design, this is one giant leap for the Tallboy. Established theory suggests shorter-travel bikes get ridden more slowly, therefore require steeper and more conservative geometries. In reality though, when was the last time you ever throttled back on a fun trail because you weren't on a bigger bike? ...caution to the wind and all that. So, we've done the same here and mimicked our longer travel geometry to create a bike with a 65.5-degree head-angle, generous front center, and short-offset fork, something rarely seen on a bike of this ilk. And, the radical thinking doesn't stop there. The Tallboy's short-short 430mm chainstays have +/- 10mm of rear axle adjustment to ensure riders of all sizes and styles feel equally at home. Match that to a relatively low BB (335mm and 37.5mm drop), and you've got a combo that's ready to haul into every pocket turn and launch out the other side.

WHAT IS A FLIP-CHIP? OR ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY. Our Flip Chip technology allows you to quickly switch between two positions to alter the Primer’s geometry which gives you different handling characteristics. The ‘Low’ setting is for most normal everyday riding, but if you are mainly going to be hitting the downhills then you have the ability to easily switch to the ‘Lower’ setting. Going from the Low to Lower mode slackens the head angle by 0.6º, drops the bottom bracket by 7mm, and shortens the reach by 6mm (figures for Primer 29 in Large). What this means is that the bike in the Lowest setting will eat up the descents and rail any corner even more so than before. It’s your choice. THE JS TUNED TRAIL LINK. We talk a lot about JS Tuned here at INTENSE. JS stands for Jeff Steber (our founder and CEO) and simply put it is a system that focuses on all of the individual parts that make up one of our bikes: from suspension, geometry, wheel size, materials, and component spec. The key element of JS Tuned is our suspension system that uses two counter-rotating links to connect the front and rear triangles of the bike. The links are specifically placed to allow for separation between the pedaling and braking forces from the suspension performance. Every model in our range has its own personal and specific JS tune.
